On Episode 74 of Beers in The Lot, the guys reviewed their winter season beer league rosters and the first week of games; discussed the quiet NHL trade market, potentially due to NHL players not going to the Olympics and despite teams having glaring needs; and talked about the Carolina Hurricanes signing their 2016 third round pick and NCAA standout goaltender, Jack LaFontaine to an entry level contract, ending his fifth year and career with the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
On Episode 73, the Beers in The Lot crew discussed some things they liked and didn’t like about this season’s Winter Classic game between the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild and the NHL on TNT broadcast; and P.K. Subban attempting to slew foot (again) Washington Capitals forward, Garnet Hathaway and possible disciplinary action to prevent further attempts by the notorious New Jersey Devils defenseman.
