On Episode 102 of Beers in The Lot, the guys were getting hyped up for the return of the Old Fat Bald Guys Ice Hockey Tournament to benefit Platoon 22. They discussed some of the details and things they’re looking forward to during the event including having beers in the lot while recording Beers in The Lot. The crew also chatted about the end of the latest OFBG season in which Aaron’s team defeated Rigs’ and Jonny’s team in the championship. Also, with the NHL being relatively quiet after free agency, the guys talked about some of their non-hockey, summer activities.
On Episode 101, the Beers in The Lot crew minus Danny had some laughs about the stormy beer league post game tailgate on Sunday. Then, they turned in their homework assigned by Jonny-name a song that describes their takes on NHL free agency or the off-season so far. The guys finished up the episode advising new hockey and Seattle Kraken fans to calm down about Shane Wright’s entry level contract and just enjoy some coffee.
On the second Beers in The Lot bonus episode, One More Beer, Rigs and Jonny discussed NHL Free Agency season opening up for the summer of 2022. The gave their thoughts on recent free agent signings by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Columbus Blue Jackets. Jonny also made a prediction and request for a possible move involving BITL favorite, Phil Kessel.
On the 100th episode of Beers in The Lot, the guys got together in Rigs’ basement before their Sunday beer league games. Danny’s long time friend and carpooling partner, Ross, joined the crew to tell some great stories about sleeping under wet blankets and circumventing Washington, DC while walking in flip flops. The BITL crew and Ross also discussed NHL free agency including Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Washington Capitals’ free agent targets and how Nicklas Backstrom’s health may affect them. The guys also talked about some of the recent NHL draft picks that caught their attention both negatively and positively.
