We’re Headed to Wally Ice Fest!

Episode 120 of Beers in The Lot is all about the Wally Ice Fest in the Lake Wallenpaupack area of the Poconos. The BITL crew will be icing a team in the pond hockey tournament during the event being held in February. They were very excited about planning the trip and talked about what they are looking forward to like their Airbnb cabin and the equipment they plan to use while playing in the tournament.

Episode 119 of Beers in The Lot was recorded the night after the Old Fat Bald Guys Hockey League, Fall 2022 Consolation and Championship games. The guys talked about the highlights in those games. They also discussed iron man, Phil Kessel reaching 1000 consecutive NHL games played. The crew finished up with more debate about empty net goals.

On Episode 118 of Beers in The Lot, the guys chatted about the NHL a bit focusing on the Penguins, Capitals, and Leafs, as usual but also some Canucks and Bruce Boudreau. Then they went over some of the highlights from their first Old Fat Bald Guys Hockey League playoff game. The crew finished up talking about one of their other favorite subjects-food.

On Episode 117 of Beers in The Lot, Rigs talked about the sights and sounds on a recent kids’ hockey trip to Cleveland and asked the question-are the Leafs better now? The guys also talked about Alexander Ovechkin breaking Gordie Howe’s goals scored with a single NHL franchise record and Ovi’s affect on the growth of hockey in the DMV.

USA Blind Hockey Featuring Josh Schneider

On Episode 116 of Beers in The Lot, the guys are joined by Team USA Blind Hockey player, Josh Schneider. Josh explained the few differences and many similarities between blind and sighted hockey. He discussed the missions of two foundations that support blind hockey’s continued growth-The Dented Puck Foundation (https://thedentedpuck.com/) and The HockEYE Guy Foundation (https://thehockeyeguy.com/). Josh also talked about his connection to Maryland area hockey and some hilarious accounts of late nights after hockey in Frederick.
