On Episode 83, the Beers in The Lot crew is joined by original Old Fat Bald Guys Hockey League goalie, Gregg Gellman. He talked about having fun in the local beer leagues; the OFBG seasonal award for best goaltender named after him-the Gellmanzina; his naval career and serving now in a more diplomatic capacity after starting in the Medical Service Corps; playing hockey in various forms all over the world; working as a local fire captain and paramedic in the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service; and his incredible experience working as a medic on set during the filming of Mighty Ducks 2.

On Episode 82 of Beers in The Lot, Rigs made his comeback to the podcast after a health scare; he explained what was going on and what he learned from his experience; and the crew tried to get the message across that your health should be a priority and not taken for granted.

On Episode 81, Jon started us off with his side of the rough stuff from his Monday night game, then as the conversation moved toward Mitch Marner’s great fantasy night vs the Red Wings, Daniel and Aaron re-iterated their indifference to the fantasy standings.  We broke one of our rules and very briefly touched on non-hockey current events, and rounded things off talking about fast food.

Episode 80 had a unique start, but Aaron, Danny, and Jon figured it out eventually despite Rigs’ absence again. This is probably the last you’ll hear us talk about the olympics for a while, but certainly not the last time we’ll rip on Philly and take shots at the Yotes while we talk about other clubs.  In this case, it was Montreal.  Jon also had a bit to say about his game on Sunday night and the extra room on the ice.

On Episode 79, Aaron, Danny, and Jon were playing a man down without Rigs, but still with plenty of laughs and banter.  The men and women’s Olympic ice hockey was the topic to start with, before we moved on to MSL taking the reins for the Habs. Nostalgia is fun, so we reminisced about Marty’s 2004 Lightning team as well.

On Episode 78 of Beers in The Lot, Aaron, Danny, and Jonny recapped their visit to Whitey’s Pond at The Gardens Icehouse in Laurel, MD; Rigs and Jonny talked about their big tilt in beer league that ended in OT this week; and all of the guys agreed, one of the best ways to grow the game is through exposure and Women’s Olympic Hockey is a great example of that.
