In Episode 17 of Beers in The Lot, the guys discuss the NHL returning in mid-January; placing advertising on NHL uniforms and on the ice to make up for lost revenue; and opinions on the recently released Reverse Retro uniforms.

Episode 16 of Beers in The Lot features Mark Breiter, the equipment manager for the Minnesota State University Mavericks women’s ice hockey team. Mark gives his hockey backstory and how he got the equipment manager job; goes through his role as the equipment manager on a day-to-day basis; provides an insider look into practice and game day operations; and talks about learning the craft from his mentors and the equipment manager brotherhood.

In Episode 15 of Beers in The Lot, the guys are joined by Nick Fleehart aka “Nicky Commish”, the commissioner of the Beer League Players Association. Nick talked about the Draft Experience beer league hockey tournaments he runs all over the country; the draft format of the tournaments which values players’ beer drinking prowess over their hockey skill; and the golden rule of beer league, “Don’t be a dick”.

Episode 14 features Ryan Minkoff, author of Thin Ice: A Hockey Journey from Unknown to Elite–and the Gift of a Lifetime. The Beers in The Lot podcast crew talked with Ryan about his youth and high school hockey days in Minnesota; playing college club hockey at the University of Washington and the crazy road trips; an opportunity to attend the WHL’s Everett Silvertips training camp; Ryan’s path to playing professional hockey in Finland and what life was like in a small Finnish town for one of two import players on the team; how helping his Latvian roommate with his pro contract led to Ryan’s professional player agent career and starting his company 83, LLC; and ultimately, what led to Ryan writing his book.
